Portsmouth New Hampshire is one of the most unique places in all of new england. settled in 1623 and founded on the shores of the fast flowing Piscataqua river, this port city town has continued to evolve over the years and has done a wonderful job of staying current, while maintaining the historical and cultural identity of its past. the city has become a vibrant cultural and artistic destination with a fabulous restaurant scene and something to do for everyone in the family.
The Downtown Scene
The downtown is structured in a way so as to allow pedestrian access to the majority of historic homes and sightseeing stops along the way. the downtown Waterfront boast One Restaurant after another with Dex out on the water overlooking the iconic tugboats of the Moran tug company.
Luxury Condominiums and older brick buildings lined the entire shoreline from its easternmost tip Westward up the piscataqua river. there is an incredible amount of new construction happening in this vibrant and dynamic city as developers from the Portsmouth area and Beyond have discovered the growing wish of people from all across the country to move to this iconic town. in Portsmouth rapidly expanding North End you can see one luxury condominium development after another springing up and it’s early stages of construction. as a lifelong Portsmouth resident and native, I I’m fascinated to see the ever-changing landscape of this town and to hear stories from my client coming in looking for houses or Condominiums to buy. they talk of a city that is rich in history and culture, boasting low crime rates, being children friendly and offering a quality of life not found in many other towns.
